Candidates should be free from physical defects such as knock knees, flat feet, varicose veins, deformities, hearing defects, and speech defects.

Male Candidates
Must qualify in any 5 of the following 8 events:
- 100 Meter Run – 15 Seconds
- High Jump – 120 cm
- Long Jump – 350 cm
- Shot Put – 600 cm
- Cricket Ball Throw – 5000 cm
- Rope Climbing – 365.8 cm
- Pull-Ups – 8 Times
- 1500 Meter Run – 6 Minutes 30 Seconds
Female Candidates
Must qualify in any 5 of the following 7 events:
- 100 Meter Run – 18 Seconds
- High Jump – 90 cm
- Long Jump – 250 cm
- Shot Put (4 kg) – 450 cm
- Throw Ball – 14 Meters
- Shuttle Race (25×4 m) – 26 Seconds
- Skipping – 80 Times in One Minute
Extra marks will be awarded for:
- NCC Certificate Holders
- NCC A Certificate – 2%
- NCC B Certificate – 3%
- NCC C Certificate – 5%
- Student Police Cadet (SPC)
Eligible SPC certificate holders will receive weightage marks as per government norms.
Sports Achievements
Meritorious sports persons will also receive additional marks according to Kerala PSC rules.
Training
Selected candidates must undergo 9 months of pre-service training at:
- Armed Police Battalions
- Police Training College
- Kerala Police Academy
Probation Period
Candidates appointed to the post will be on probation for: 2 years of duty within a continuous period of 3 years.
